McMenamins Kennedy School

Built in 1915, this offbeat hotel in a restored elementary school is 4.8 miles from Portland International Airport and 5.5 miles from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. 

The individually decorated rooms have private bathrooms. Some rooms include the school's original chalkboards and cloakrooms, while others have literature-inspired themes.

There's a courtyard restaurant, multiple bars and a brewery. Other amenities include an outdoor pool and a movie theater.
